Dear Project Runway,

I know that it has only been a few short months since your last season finale but I have missed you. Last nights premiere did not disappoint me. I have missed Tim, Heidi, Michael and Nina very much. As always this season promises to be filled with petty drama caused by designers I cannot stand, but I will continue to watch every single second of. I can tell you right now I do not like Ivy or her “The Ivy H Show” comments. Nor do I like Casanova or Jason. His dress was clearly on the side of vulgar and not on that of tasteful. I don’t know if I have any promising favorites yet. Although I am kinda in love with Peach. Mostly because of her name and age, but she does seam like she could be a firecracker!

Other than the designers and their drama, you do give me all sorts of new inspiration and motivation to get sewing. I am going to work really hard this weekend to get my new sewing room in order, so that I may cash in on all this new inspiration. It was great to see you again last night and I will wait on baited breath until next Thursday to see what new drama and inspiration you have in store for me.

Addicted,

~Sarah

Hello again!

Not much sewing has been going on in my life recently. I am very sad about that as I have so many things in mind that I want to make. I thought I would take a quick house renovation break to share some of the progress on the new house. We have moved in and are slowly unpacking all of our stuff as well as finishing up some other fun projects.

This is the living room before. You can’t really tell from the picture, but all the walls were baby blue!

This is the after. We repainted everything. I really had to fight for the green color on the accent wall. In the end DH just gave in to me and guess what. Everyone loves it!!! We still don’t have all of the electronics hooked up yet, as you can tell from the bar shelves. We also need to get some artwork and photographs hung and get some end tables.

This is our bedroom before. It was a pastel yellow. The carpet was also super disgusting.

This is our bedroom after. Again, we did one accent wall like in the living room. We also painted the remaining 3 walls the same tan color as the living room. Since taking this picture we have installed red and brown curtains on all four windows. Our master is very large, 18’X20′ I believe, so we still have a lot of space to work with. We want to make the area in front of the closet (in before picture) a dressing sort of space with a bench and what nots.

This nightmare inducing kitchen is the before. The red actually looks better in the picture than it was in real life. It was very poorly painted and made the whole space feel small and dark.

While we are planning on a complete kitchen remodel down the line, we had to repaint the walls! They are now a cream color. We thought about painting the wood paneling under the bar but it didn’t work so well. We are now going to rip it off and cover it with some basic MDF. I still have to fix that cabinet door that is missing it’s panel. We got a brand new black composite granite sink and a new faucet set for the kitchen that should be installed sometime within the coming week. I can’t wait to actually be able to cook again! The next thing to be replaced in here is going to be the counter top.

This is how the room looked originally when we moved in. Gray walls with a southwestern border and badly stained gray carpet! Blah!

Now my room is a great shade of purple! I haven’t finished painting the trim yet but it will all be black. I am also going to get some of the unfinished wooden letters to decorate with. I am not sure what exactly I want it to say yet, but definitely something sewing related. DH and I also re-carpeted the entire house.
