Fan-flipping-tastic!!!

I picked up the quilt from EmbroidMe yesterday! It is absolutely perfect!! I recommend this shop to everyone. Each one is a franchise but it was run as such a mom & pop shop I loved it. They even got the accent mark right!

This past weekend I got the chance to go to Shipshewana! More over I got to go to Lolly’s Fabrics. I only bought a stencil for the quilt though. Next time I hope to be able to purchase more.

Cute Flower Pin

I found this fun and simple project at the Jo-Ann’s site. This pin will add a splash of color and fun to your work suits. Enjoy!

Breaking news. This just in…

I finished the piecing!! woot!! My next tasks are to take this piece to get embroidered, sew the backing together and make my quilt sandwich. Then I get to hand it off to Bri to be quilted!! I am so excited, my tedious part is over! Soon I will get to go back to making myself fabulous new clothes! I have been dieing to make myself some new jeans and tops for months now!

Newspaper Basket

This basket is absolutely adorable and a great way to be green. This is such a clever idea, I love it. I have a Sunday newspaper that I can’t wait to try this with. This idea came in my latest Craftstylish email. You can check out other great project ideas at the Craftsylish website. Enjoy!

End of the month!

This is my first end of the month post and I feel like I haven’t accomplished much of anything. I didn’t make any new garments. I just worked on the quilt, because I have such a tight deadline with it. I have 6 of the 9 rows now completed. My goal was to have the piecing completed this weekend, but I didn’t do much of any sewing this week or weekend. This coming weekend is now my piecing goal.

I did purchase a bit of fabric this month. I bought 8 yds of a purple cotton backing and 2.79 yds of batting for the quilt. This I feel is acceptable since I need it for the quilt. I did also buy 2 remnants, total of under 2 yds, just because. They are pictured in an earlier post. When I get the time I am going to make 2 tops out of them.

My goals for June are:

1. Finish my portion of the quilt, piecing and sewing layers together by this weekend.

2. Make a reusable grocery bag or two.

3. Make a pair of jeans.

4. Make a new top.

Happy sewing!
