Day 209: Stocking up

Musings of a Seamstress

It’s been a pretty good Sunday here.  The weather is really nice and cool.  It was a high of 70 today!  There was a bit of a chill in the air this morning that made me start longing for fall sewing.  I have ideas for leggings and sweaters and jackets that I am excited to start making.  It is supposed to go back up into the 80′s this week and I am sure that will make me want to keep sewing skirts and dresses, but I am going to start thinking about fall sewing and rounding up my fabrics and patterns.

On a sewing related side note, I hope you made it out to Jo-Ann’s today!  There was a coupon in the flyer for 70% off your total notions wall purchase.  I stocked up!  I got hand needles, various different machine needles, bobbins and bobbin cases, pins, elastic, hooks and eyes and buckles.  I should be set on these things for a good while now.  I am happy to say that I did NOT buy a single Simplicity pattern even though they are on sale for $1.99.  There just wasn’t anything in this last collection that I had to have.  Which is probably good, since I have so many already.  I am surprised that there weren’t very many costumes in this last collection.  I am hoping they actually have some when the autumn collection comes out.  McCall’s on the other hand has released some Once Upon a Time and Brave based costumes that are on my must get list.
