Day 234: Blog Voices

Musings of a Seamstress

I would have posted much sooner today, but I choose to watch last weeks episode of Project Runway.  DRAMA!!  I can’t believe that Sandro came back to apologize.  I take what he said with a grain of sand.  I am so glad that Jeremy won the challenge.  I have been a fan of his since episode one.  Alexander’s look was also stunning!

Have you seen the Blog Voices project?  It started a couple of years ago and I did one then.  Unfortunately,  I cannot get my previous video to show up on this post, so go check it out here.  I have enjoyed watching all the new videos.  Keep posting them and I will keep watching them.

Day 214: The force is strong

Musings of a Seamstress

I wore my Star Wars dress for the second time today.  This time I paired it with a thin fuchsia snake skin belt.  Tonight I am, of course, sewing Star Wars costumes. I even have Darth Vader shaped ice cubes in my glass of water.  No joke!

I watched episode three of Project Runway today after work.  WOW!  DRAMA!  As if I didn’t like Sandro enough before, he has managed to make me like him even less with his comment “When a woman listen to a man, is so cool.”  What a misogynistic jerk. Next weeks episode promises to be the one with his major meltdown.  I am guessing he probably had some mommy issues.

Day 202: Musings on the Runway

Musings of a Seamstress

First, thank you for the outpouring of support after yesterdays post.  I know that Kaycee’s family appreciates it.

Now, on to something more uplifting.  The skirt I am wearing is one of the two skirts I made last week using my self drafted pattern.  This version has a gathered band around the bottom.  You cannot really see it is gathered in this photo though.  For this one I used a 1 1/2 yards of quilting cotton from my stash. The fabric came from The French Seam in 2011.  It feels good to finally use it!

Can we talk Project Runway for a bit? I didn’t watch last season and I am okay with that.  But I am for sure watching this season.  I never did send in my application and what-not to audition, because I just didn’t make the required video.  Next year I will do it though.

This season, however, promises to be full of drama.  In watching one episode I can tell you I do not like the Russian guy, Sandro. He annoys me already and he sent a model down the runway with her lady bits hanging out.  Not cool!! I also do not like Timoth, aka Mr. Sustainability.  While I like the idea behind his philosophy, I think he is a walking talking contradiction.  I love that Zac Posen pointed out to him that melting that plastic parachute fabric was releasing toxins into the air.  It was just great!  I also, cannot believe that he would send his model down the runway without hair and make-up or shoes for that matter.  The looks on the faces of the L’oreal team when he said no product said it all.  Then he wore freaking  glittery heals while his model was barefoot.  Ugh.  I don’t like him but I kinda want him to stay just so I can have someone to root against.  So far, I do like Justin, the deaf guy, and Brandon, the first winner.  I cannot wait to see what else they come up with.  While Miranda did not quite follow the rules of the first challenge, I have a feeling I am going to really like her style. I am excited for this coming weeks episode.
