Another day of mostly sewing! I had a couple of quick errands to run but other than that I have spent some time working on Eric’s Sith cloak.
I have the muslin finished. Never mind the funky lines going down the photo. My camera has decided to be finicky again. Anyways, we tested out two different sleeves to see which he preferred. The large full sleeve is the one that came with the pattern. The slimmer of the two with the slit is one I drafted. That one more closely resembles the one on Darth Maul’s cloak and is the one we are going with. With the pleats, the fuller sleeve is just too much. It makes the cloak look too big and frumpy. Also keep in mind that the finished version will be floor length, not to his knees. I have redrafted almost everything on this pattern. The only thing I have not redrafted is the back yoke piece. Once I have the cloak finished I will be doing a more in depth post on all the different things I have done to it to make it unique. I may keep this muslin around because it would work well for a ghost costume.
