I must say, I am loving today’s look! I made this skirt last night on a whim. I have been wanting to draft a simple elastic waist skirt for months now but finally did it last night. It took me all of 5 minutes to draft and 30 minutes to sew. I used 2 remnants that were each 3/4 yard. I got them last week from Jo-Ann’s for $4.19 a piece. All in all $8.38 + 35 minutes was totally worth it for a new skirt. I have a few more of these that I want to make and at least one of them will include pockets. I am even thinking a dress based off of the overall look of today’s outfit needs to happen for next year.
On another note, I told Eric I am starting a new game. Do you watch How I Met Your Mother? Awesome, me too! Remember that episode where Marshall invents a new game, Was I drunk or a kid? I know so funny! Well my new game is going to be called Did I make or buy this. Eric has been saying lately that he cannot tell anymore if my new clothes are things that came from the store or my sewing room. Which, I guess is a good thing right?
I forgot to mention some stats about yesterday’s Captain America costume. I used a total of 3 1/2yards of fabric. Only 1/2 yard was from the stash and it was white scuba that I used to line the bodice. The other 3 yards were what I got from work specifically for this. The pattern for the dress was drafted by me too. I can’t say that I will ever make another version of this dress, but it was still fun to draft this one.
