Day 172: Saving the world one costume at a time

Musings of a Seamstress

Today at work we had our company picnic and had our company picture taken, so everyone wore matching black t-shirts.  You can hardly tell what I am wearing because everything was so dark, but I have on the black t-shirt, a pair of dark denim self made shorts and my navy dress.  Of course I had to spice up all the dark, so I accessorized with my red peep toe heels!  At the company picnic we had a red white and blue themed costume contest.

I decided to go as the female Captain America!  This is the dress that I patterned out last weekend.  I would say it turned out pretty darn awesome!  I didn’t win first place, but the person who did wore an amazing Betsy Ross colonial costume complete with the first American flag replica.  She totally deserved first!  It was an impressive costume for being made in two weeks.  I wish I had gotten a picture of it.  I may actually wear this again to the new Comic Con that is coming to Indy next year.  I will have to make some red gauntlets and a mask of sorts to go with this though.
